[overview]
To kick off their presence in Brazil, the LA Lakers invited me to collaborate on their first major campaign: celebrating Carnaval. The goal was to connect more deeply with Brazilian fans by embracing the country’s most iconic cultural moment. My role was to create a series of illustrations that captured the energy, colors, and rhythms of Carnaval while tying them back to the world of basketball.

[DEVELOPMENT]
[overview]
The artistic direction for this project focused on merging the vibrant, expressive energy of Brazilian Carnaval with the bold, globally recognizable identity of the Los Angeles Lakers. The goal was to create illustrations that felt culturally rooted in Brazil while still clearly belonging within the Lakers visual universe. This was achieved through dynamic compositions, high-energy motion, and celebratory imagery, balanced with a bright colour palette and athletic symbolism. Each piece was designed to feel festive and local in spirit, but unified through a consistent graphic language that ensured cohesion across the wider campaign.

[overview]
Although this was a smaller-scope project, being commissioned by such a globally recognized brand as the Los Angeles Lakers was a real honour. It was especially meaningful to contribute to a cultural campaign that blended sport and celebration, and to have the opportunity to merge my love for art and sports in a single piece of work. The project also gave me the chance to explore a more illustration-heavy direction than my usual design work, which made the process both creatively refreshing and highly enjoyable.
